With this sculpture we see how the artist didn`t just see a block of marble, but through it, to a woman held captive within. The woman still remains adhered or forgotten to the stone that birthed her. The jagged texture of the stone creates an exquisite contrast with the refined surface of his powerfully muscled body. He was seen by the artist in her nude form pulling her hair back with her right arm. We are given a view from her front showing the anatomical movement of toned body. She is 100% bronze with a brown patina finish, and was molded using the age-old methods of lost-wax casting and mounted upon a black marble base with the artist Milo signature.
